Isabelle Cote-Cohen Thai Yoga Bodywork
WHAT IS THAI YOGA ?
Thai yoga restores balance and harmony within the physical body, the energy field, the mind, the emotions, and the spirit (the 5 koshas). It includes hands-on techniques, yoga postures, meditation, deep relaxation, and lifestyle modification.
Thai Yoga treatment sessions emphasize biomechanical alignment principles and precise application of technique. It honors personal needs by meeting each client at their own personal level.  Through a unique combination of healing modalities, the following techniques blend together in a magical way to produce a powerful experience of applied yoga therapeutics:
therapeutic  stretching,  alignment principles, range-of-motion exercises, joint mobilization, assisted hatha yoga postures, acupressure and reflex point therapy, rhythmic palming techniques , deep tissue compression, toning of internal organs, pranayama techniques, energy balancing, meditation practice.
I use various parts of my body such as thumbs, fingers, palms, forearms, elbows, knees and feet. When Thai Yoga techniques are used the joints open, muscles and connective tissue stretch, internal organs tone, and vital energy is increased, resulting in a deep state of relaxation, rejuvenation and well-being. The comfortable, meditative, rocking motion characteristic to Thai Yoga calms and soothes the nervous system. The unwinding of accumulated stress patterns are transformed and released, allowing the life energy to circulate more freely throughout the entire body.
The artistic expression of Thai Yoga comes fully alive when the fundamental principles are practiced with mindfulness and have been integrated into the practitioner’s body-mind-spirit. When two bodies move together in a graceful, seamlessly flowing, meditative dance, the true essence of this healing art begins.
